Happy Hound gives grant for support groups

TAMPA- Happy Hound in Tampa has given a $500,000 grant to a University of South Florida psychologist to support people who are afraid of dogs.

​

Happy Hound gave this grant as part of a community relations program seeking to position the company as one that promotes responsible pet ownership for the mutual benefits of people and animals.

​

“At Happy Hound, we believe it’s important for people to establish positive relationships with dogs. Dogs are supposed to be our best friends. We think all two-legged creatures should be able to enjoy all that our four-legged friends have to offer,” said Happy Hound CEO, Marcia Marshall.

Marshall announced that the grant was given to Emanuel Rogers, a USF psychologist and best-selling author. Rogers specializes in human-animal interaction and was given the money to begin work on a series of support groups.
